The SpaceX Crew Polaris Dawn will be stationed and training out of the Bozeman Airport Sept. 8-18, 2022. Officials say increased flight activity will be noticeable from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Aircrafts will include L-39s, Alpha Jets and MiG-29s flying in formation over Belgrade, Bozeman and surrounding areas.

The training is in preparation for SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launch scheduled for later this year from the historic Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where the crew will then spend up to 5 days in orbit. The mission has four objectives:
  • High altitude
  • First commercial spacewalk
  • Health impact research
  • In-space communications
