COVID-19 Travel Update - June 2020

Plexiglass barriers have been installed throughout the airport
BOZEMAN, MT (May 31, 2020)
Montana to Enter Phase Two of Reopening Plan on June 1
Effective June 1, the 14-day travel quarantine for out-of-state travelers and residents arriving from another state or country to Montana for non-work-related purposes will be lifted. The Montana National Guard will continue to conduct screenings in airports and refer anyone with COVID-19-related symptoms to local public health officials.

Yellowstone National Park will open its Montana entrances on Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m.  The Montana entrances include West Entrance (near West Yellowstone), North Entrance (near Gardiner), and Northeast Entrance (near Cooke City).

Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19
BZN has put in place a number of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that passengers feel comfortable while traveling. All passengers and visitors are asked to observe social distancing practices when at the airport, and leave space between themselves and others, especially in lines. Enhanced cleaning procedures are in effect throughout the terminal and hand sanitizer dispensers and plexiglass barriers have been installed at many locations throughout the airport.

Face Mask Requirement
All major domestic airlines now require passengers to wear a mask on board, including these BZN airline partners: United, Frontier, Jet Blue, American, Delta and Alaska. It is highly recommended that passengers review airlines' requirements and safety measures before flying.

Security Screening
TSA recommends travelers be prepared to adjust their mask so that officers can visually confirm their identity during the checkpoint screening process. TSA is allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container, up to 12 oz per person, in carry-on bags until further notice. Hand sanitizer will need to be screened separately and may add time to your checkpoint screening process.

Travel Restrictions
The airport remains open and flights are arriving and departing daily. However, airlines have drastically reduced their flight schedules so we encourage passengers to check directly with their airline regarding flight status.

Concessions
The Copper Horse Restaurant inside security remains closed, but with grab-and-go options available. The Montana Gift Corral, Copper Horse Market and Yellowstone Forever stores outside of security remain closed.

Passenger Traffic Numbers
After 3% in April and 8-12% in May, June traffic through BZN is expected to be 15-20% of normal.

Real ID Enforcement
The October 1, 2020, deadline for REAL ID has been delayed to October 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
